Generator Bearings are a generator that has two bearings, one to support each end of the armature shaft. On some generators, one end of the shaft is supported by the coupling to the prime mover and one bearing is used at the other end. Generator Bearings are AC generators that have a single bearing on the main shaft. These are easier, faster and cheaper to assemble and have therefore replaced the two-bearing alternators across most applications.
